A local title company is operating under a new name. Title Financial Corporation (TFC) has announced that its subsidiaries, including First American Title Company in Thompson Falls, are now Flying S Title & Escrow (FSTE).

As an independent agent for 40 years, their First American Title Company subsidiary in Thompson Falls has been confused with direct operations based in Santa Ana, California. TFC hopes this rebrand will set them apart and better represent its company and culture.

Beginning in 1905, TFC has been a family-owned and independent company growing its operations to multiple counties throughout Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.

Employees at the Thompson Falls office include Roberta Kinser and Krissy Fisher. Kinser has worked for the local title company for 38 years, and Fisher has been with the company for 3 years.

"We've spent a lot of time thinking about this rebrand. Why do we want to do it? Why is it important? Why Flying S?" said Quinn Stufflebeam, TFC Chief Executive Officer and grandson of founder William H. Stufflebeam. "We wanted something that spoke to the past, speaks to who we are now, and speaks to the future. It made sense to tie in our family brand with the business. The story it tells speaks to our roots, company culture, commitment to getting a job done, and the counties in which we serve our customers."

Flying S Title & Escrow stems from a cattle brand that originated with the company founder's son, Dwain H. Stufflebeam. While stationed at the Air Force Base in Amarillo, Texas, Stufflebeam and his wife Joyce created and used the brand in his ranching operation in Southeast Idaho. The "S" stands for Stufflebeam, and the wings on each side of the "S" represent Stufflebeam's love of flying.

Flying S will hold an open house on Tuesday, November 15, at 3 p.m. to celebrate the rebranding.
