It was a cold and rainy day for the Blue Hawks and Horseman/Trotters at the Archie Roe meet in Kalispell on Saturday. Fourteen teams competed at the meet.

"Considering the cold weather, the team did reasonably well," said Plains Coach Rachel Chenoweth. Four Horsemen achieved personal records at the meet: Asher Seymour, Mike Reistroffer, Mason Elliott and Levi Blood. Elliot won third place in the varsity 300 meter hurdles with a time of 42.98.

Trotters Peyton Wasson and Lola-Grace Rodriguez both grabbed personal records at the meet. To lead the Trotters was Alexis Deming who won first place in the discus with a throw of 105 feet, 4 inches, and seized fourth place in the shot put with a 33 foot, 3 inch throw.

"We had small improvements in a variety of events and consistent marks in others," said Chenoweth. The team is looking forward to a warmer District meet on Saturday.

Thompson Falls Coach Trenna Ferris said that she was happy with the team's overall performances.

Ten individuals achieved personal records on the Blue Hawks men's team: Bryson LeCoure, Ian Myers, Cael Thilmony, Blake Shusterman, Gabe Hutton, Brock Ryan, James Schmidt, Zack Ames, Maika Hammer and Nick Tessier.

Ryan took first place in the freshman 800 with a time of 2:17.42 and fourth in the freshman javelin. "He is really stepping up to help the team and is improving individually," said Ferris. Breck Ferris took sixth place in the varsity long jump with a 19 foot, 8.25 inch jump. "This was an excellent accomplishment, jumping with kids from Glacier and Flathead," said Ferris.

Shusterman placed fifth in the freshman 3,200 with a time of 12:35.09; Schmidt earned fifth place in the junior varsity shot put, with a 34 foot, 10 inch push; LeCoure won second place in the junior varsity high jump with a 5 foot jump and John Taylor won third place in the junior varsity high jump with a 5 foot jump. The men's 100 relay team: Kaiden Robins, Braxton Dorscher, Tessier and Ferris got 5th place. Ferris said that they are still working on perfecting their exchanges.

Hutton placed fourth place in the JV shot put with a throw of 36 feet, 8.5 inches. "Gabe had a good PR kind of day, improving in all events. He is motivated to improve," said Ferris.

Ellie Baxter led the Lady Hawks with a second place win and personal record in the 3,200 meter with a time of 11:51.18. "Ellie ran really well for us and had a great personal day, improving in all her events," said Ferris.

Trinity Riffle won first in the junior varsity high jump with a 4 foot, 4 inch jump and sixth in the 400 with a time of 1:04.11. Chesney Lowe won third place in the javelin with a throw of 97 feet, 5 inches and Katelyn Subatch won first place in the freshman 800 with a time of 2:42.09 and fourth in the triple jump with a 28 foot, 4 inch jump. "Katelyn is looking really strong, she is performing against tough kids and doing awesome," said Ferris.

The 4x400 team: Faith Palmer, Riffle, Subatch and Baxter took sixth place. "I think we have a lot of grit, as we were the only class B team to stick around for the final event, the 4x400 relay. I am glad we had a meet like that so kids know, whatever the conditions are they need to step up and compete. They did just that!" said Ferris.
