The decidedly young Lady Hawk basketball team has been growing by leaps and bounds lately, and scored a split in Western B action last week, defeating the District 6B Mission Lady Bulldogs 51-43 in Thompson Falls Thursday, and falling to the 7B-leading Bigfork Vals 67-29 in Bigfork Saturday.

Coach Doree Thilmony and her Lady Hawks will complete regular season play this week, hosting Troy Friday.

Thilmony was very happy with how the Hawks flew past Mission, and felt her girls learned a lot from playing powerful Bigfork again.

"The Mission game was a confidence builder for us, it was a much-needed win," she said, "and it's always good to play teams like Bigfork. They push you out of your comfort zone and make you play a different level of basketball."

Freshman Megan Baxter led the Hawks in the win over Mission with yet another double double, registering 18 points and spearing 12 rebounds.
