December 13, 2018

Sanders County Community Development Corporation (SCCDC) in Thompson Falls has expanded their staff with the creation of a new, part-time position, Business Development Coordinator (BDC). The BDC will be client-driven, motivated and responsive to the needs of the business community and tourism sector in Sanders County. Network building and developing relationships within the communities served by SCCDC is vital. Activities undertaken by the non-profit community and economic development organization are a result of those mutually beneficial relationships. The BDC will focus on increasing awareness of SCCDC’s business services and connecting clients to the resources that they need.

Ronda Wakefield, who recently relocated to Thompson Falls from Kalispell, filled the position in November.

Wakefield has more than 15 years of diverse human resources and management experience that spans a variety of industries including human services, retail, manufacturing, staffing, restaurant, and restoration services. She has extensive hands-on experience leading HR initiatives including policy design, handbook development, recruiting and onboarding, talent management, training and development, employee engagement, performance management, complex employee relations, and safety.

Wakefield’s employment history includes human resource management roles for a large Montana based manufacturing company specializing in emergency communication platforms, a restaurant franchise, and a service-based fire and water damage restoration company. Serving as a staffing consultant for a global staffing service, Ronda became an expert at the nuances of recruiting in the Flathead Valley and beyond.

Her knowledge and experience is beneficial for the BDC role because she has both served as a contractor and been on the inside of a business to establish healthy practices as an employee. Currently, Wakefield owns NW MT HR, is an adjunct instructor at FVCC and serves as a volunteer for non-profits and state organizations. SCCDC is happy to welcome her to the organization and the community.

Businesses are encouraged to contact Ronda at [email protected] or call (406) 827-6935 to learn more about the resources provided by SCCDC. Sanders County Community Development Corporation is a small non-profit organization dedicated to improving the economic climate in Sanders County by assisting small business and community projects.
