Given the focus on head injuries, would you let your kids play football?

September 12, 2019

BETTY CAMULETTA, Plains –”Yes because they have been playing all these years. Kids need to get tougher. We are making babies out of them.”

OSCAR READ, Thompson Falls – “Just teach them not to collide with their heads.”

DARIN McELMURRY, Thompson Falls — “My son plays football. I didn’t have a chance to play because Noxon didn’t have a team. I hurt my head when I crashed my bike. A person has to live. You just can’t worry about everything.”

EILEEN TURK, Thompson Falls – “If my son wanted to play football, I’d let him. I know there are more safety devices than there used to be. It doesn’t mean I’m not worried about him getting hurt.”

MARV GEBHARDT, Noxon – “Yes, because safety standards have gone up over the years, so there are not as many accidents. A lot is teaching them how to tackle.”

FRED RING, Thompson Falls – “It would depend on the parents on whether they should play or not.”
