Question of the Week

Are you concerned about chronic wasting disease?

October 3, 2019

SANDREA COLEMAN ROUSSY, Thompson Falls – “Yes. Last year we had a deer that the liver looked strange, so we didn’t eat it.”

BILL CAIN, Thompson Falls – “I never really got into hunting because I was always too busy with sports. I'm sure hunters and experts in this area will do what is necessary to stop the spread of the disease.”

SCOTT JOHNSON, Thompson Falls – “I wouldn’t eat any meat of any animal susceptible to the disease. It’s similar to mad cow disease.”

DENNY WULFEKUHLE, Thompson Falls – “I’m concerned because it spreads through the community. Having so many deer in town doesn’t help.”

DEBBIE WILSON, Thompson Falls – “I taught hunter education in Colorado. If people see a deer with chronic wasting disease you’ll know it. Don’t hunt it and don’t give it to your pets. It hasn’t been proven that CWD passes to people from animals.”
