Thompson Falls volleyball coach Sandra Kazmierczak's internal holiday clock must be ticking a little fast. She thinks the best time of the year is now, and not at that time around the holiday season, which is still a few months away.

"This is the best time of the year, tournament time," she insisted. "This is when every match, every set, every point counts more. The girls are excited and we are ready for the district tournament in Mission."

The 2019 District 7B tournament will be played in Mission Saturday, making coach Kaz's best-time-of-the-year dreams come true once more.

Eureka, the top seed, will play the winner between No. 4 Troy and No. 5 Bigfork, at noon in Mission Saturday, followed by the No. 2 Lady Hawks versus the No. 3 Mission Bulldogs at 1:45 p.m. The consolation match will be played at 4 p.m. and the championship at 5:45.

Bigfork was set to visit Troy Tuesday to set the field of team's for Saturday's action. All four 7B teams will then move on to the Western B divisional tournament in Eureka Nov. 7-9.

"We need to take it one tournament at a time," Kazmierczak said. "We have been playing good volleyball lately, we just want to go out there, have some fun and keep our season going."

The Hawks completed a 13-3 regular season by blasting Troy (25-15, 25-17, 25-11 in Troy Thursday) and Bigfork (25-16, 25-17, 25-12 in Thompson Falls) last week.

Scarlette Schwindt executed 10 kills, blocked two shots, hit three aces and three digs to lead the Lady Hawks in Troy, Jody Detlaff added eight Ks, six blocks, three aces and three digs, Belle Cooper four kills and two aces, Brooke Bowlin three kills, Elli Pardee two kills and five digs and Riley Wilson three kills, 18 set assists, a block and two aces.

Against the Bigfork Vals, Detlaff floored 10 kills and four stuff blocks, Schwindt smacked nine kills and seven aces, Bowlin had three kills, two blocks and five aces, Wilson two kills, 18 more assists and two blocks, Pardee seven digs, a kill and an ace, Cooper a kill, a block and four digs, and Cheyla Irvine another kill and eight digs.
