Hot Springs falls to Charlo

CHARLO 60, HOT SPRINGS 39

The Hot Springs Lady Savage Heat took to the road one last time for the regular season falling to the Charlo Lady Vikings 60-39.

The powerhouse Charlo team came out getting the first points and quickly shutting down the Lady Savage Heat defense. They were able to score another basket before Hot Springs was able to sink a basket. Headed into the second the Lady Vikings had a massive 10 point lead over the Lady Savage Heat. They kept the pressure on Hot Springs, who was able to only break past them a few times. Charlo was able to get past the tight-knit defense of the Lady Savage Heat to take a massive lead before halftime.

Coming back from the half the teams would go basket for basket, but the Lady Heat were unable to close the large point gap that the Lady Vikings put between them. While Hot Springs showed amazing team work, going basket for basket with Charlo, they couldn’t pull ahead before the final quarter. In the final quarter the Lady Heat were able to keep the Lady Vikings to minimal scoring. To answer back Charlo would also keep the Hot Springs to low scoring, to take the win.

The Savage Heat took to the court next, taking on the Charlo Vikings falling 56-37.

Swiftly Hot Springs came out to get the first basket and the lead, but a Viking three pointer would put them ahead early. The Vikings were able to sink another basket, putting more pressure on the Savage Heat. Charlo was able to capitalize on rebounds to take a great nine point lead before the second quarter. Coming into the second it would be the powerhouse Charlo team that would gain the first basket, but that was quickly answered with a Savage Heat three pointer. The Savage heat turned on their defense, but it was no match for the quick-footed Charlo team. Before the half the Vikings were up by 17.

Going into the second half, the Savage heat were able to gain the first points coming out with new fire. It was answered with two baskets from the Vikings. The teams would each put intense full court pressure on each other, and Hot Springs would capitalize off of several steals and turnovers to try to close the point gap headed into the final quarter. But with only a minute left in the third, the Savage Heat were still down by 20. It would be Charlo who would gain the first points on the board in the final quarter. While the powerhouse defensive team tried, they weren’t able to close the large point gap that Charlo put between them to take the win.
