For the record, no babies or women were physically harmed in the making of the heart-wrenching Biblical story of Solomon and the two women fighting over the baby. Also, because Solomon asked for wisdom rather than other things, he got those as well. To clarify on the subject of ectopic pregnancies, a medical professional with several decades dealing with saving lives and pregnancies has addressed the moral issues eloquently: “TERMINATION OF ECTOPIC/TUBAL PREGNANCIES HAVE NEVER BEEN CONSIDERED ABORTION. The purpose of the procedure is not to destroy the child (who cannot survive where implanted) but to save the life of the mother. With current technology, a 20-week unborn child has potential to survive outside the womb—younger than that resuscitation is likely to save the baby’s life. At any point in pregnancy, if every reasonable effort is made to save baby and mother, that is not considered abortion. In abortion, it is the purpose of the procedure to kill the child.” Another moral issue either neglected or avoided previously is “INTENT,” as well as conflating God’s moral Law with man’s moral “opinion,” rules or laws. It might also be worth reminding everyone who probably knows who Tim Tebow is and what he has already accomplished in his life for good. A medical professional had advised his mother to terminate her pregnancy with him because of life threatening physical problems but she refused. Sometimes one example of an ectopic pregnancy or opinion is not a mandate for justifying countless thousands of babies’ lives being abruptly ended for no legitimate moral or medical reason. God still does miracles.
