Last week the Sanders County dump burned a lot of the rubbish and trees from the windstorm that ripped through the area in January. According to Jason Peterson, Sanders County Refuse District supervisor, at least 50% of the pile was from storm-related debris brought in truckloads by residents. He said a pile in the Pardee pit was from dump truck loads from the city and the county. Peterson said that they had a short window, given the permits required, and they had to burn on a day with a breeze and time was running short. The county also burned in Plains and Trout Creek last week.
