Rex Theater gets new roof

The Rex Community Theater in Thompson Falls is getting a new roof. According to Deb Wilson, the roof has been leaking for quite a while. They have awarded the contract to a local company and were given a total of $15,000 to fix the damages.

“A new roof allows us to start working on the back of the theater which needs a lot of love after years of water damage,” Wilson said.

Work needed in the back of the theater includes plumbing, electrical, new insulation and drywall. “As well as everything else that comes with a full remodel, including the kitchen sink,” Wilson said.

Board members continue to work closely with the Grimm’s, who they acknowledge as the true heart of the theater. “We are hopeful we’ll get a nod of approval from Doug when it’s all said and done,” Wilson stated. “Simply attending a show supports our mission in addition to giving folks a reason to enjoy the theater.”

Contributions for the roof can be made online at RexTheaterProject.org or mailed to: Rex Theater Project, P.O. Box 1382, Thompson Falls, MT 59873.
