Riverdogs second in Libby tournament

 


The Clark Fork Riverdogs played in the Libby Wood Bat Challenge last weekend, losing a heartbreaking 5-3 matchup in the championship to the Mission Valley Mariners. Coach John Zigler saidstarting Shortstop Jack Taylor was out due to illnus and starting pitcher Nate Zigler left the mound in the second inning with an injury.

Coach Zigler said a fantastic relief pitching performance by Kody Carter kept the Dogs in the game. "We’re disappointed that we lost but the boys played really well this weekend."

Earlier in the tournament, the Riverdogs beat the Libby Loggers 12-3.Clark Fork came out swinging with a 2-0 lead in the first inning and then brought another three runners in during the second inning. Libby scored their first runs in the third, ending the inning 7-2. The Riverdogs kept the heat, ending the game 12-3.
