New owners for local restaurant

Matt and Connie Weber, who recently moved to Thompson Falls from Missoula, are the new owners at Big Eddy's on Main Street.

The restaurant Big Eddy's is under new ownership. Connie and Matt Weber recently took over the business. They decided to leave Missoula and move to Thompson Falls in January with plans to buy the restaurant in February. But things did not happen as quickly as expected, so Connie bought the Farmhouse Blooms floral shop.

The Webers are excited about being a part of the community and making some family friendly changes to Big Eddy's. These will include longer hours, expanding the outdoors and food truck options and some new mix-ups to the menu, Matt said.

"We will utilize the outside more while the weather is nice," Connie said, "and have fire pits going for three seasons." She would like to have the taco truck items offered inside as well.

The Webers said that they want to cook food from scratch as much as possible and have it locally sourced. Their plan is to accommodate families with more economical pricing. This would include lunches for high school students who want to leave campus at lunchtime. "A sack lunch with burger, chips and drink at an affordable price," Matt suggested. They have other long-term ideas for the future.

"We are very grateful for our staff and customers' patience," said Connie.

Matt was glad to report that "We've got the tap lines up and running from 4 to 14 drafts."

Big Eddy's is located at 219 W Main St., Thompson Falls. They are open 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. seven days a week.
