Plains library happy with fundraiser results

The Plains Public Library held their first silent auction earlier this month. Bid to the Summit was held November 6-18. Items were on display at the library. People could bid in person or go to the library website and bid online.

Over 20 donated items by local and regional businesses will continue to help raise money for the library.

“The auction went very well,” Librarian Nikki Ericksen said. The library raised $1,078. Blackfoot Communications donated an additional $1,000, in lieu of a donated item. Eleven of the 20-plus items donated were used for the silent auction, she said. “Because of the large amount of items we received, we have decided to hold a monthly raffle with the remaining items. “Our first raffle will be the handcrafted pottery Piggy Bank, donated by Ellen Childress. It will be perfect for Christmas, Ericksen said. Raffle tickets will be $1 and can be purchased at the library. The library wants to thank all the volunteers who helped make the fundraiser possible.
