Sanders County hoop stars named to 14C all-con team

The Plains Horsemen earned three spots, the Noxon Red Devils two and the Hot Springs Savage Heat one on the 2017-2018 District 14C All-Conference boys basketball team it was announced earlier this week.

The Horsemen led the way among Sanders County teams on the 14C squad as seniors Jay VonHeeder (who was also named to the elite All-State C team) and Kyle Weeks were selected for the first team and Tanner Ovitt was named second team 14C.

From Noxon, junior Logan Wood and sophomore Rylan Weltz earned second team honors.

Junior Tyler Carr of Hot Springs was honorably mentioned on the 14C team.

District 14C, Western C and State C champion Arlee led the 14C selections as all five starters earned honors – three Warriors were named first team, one second team and one earned honorable mention.

Second team

Lane Johnson, jr., Arlee; Landers Smith, jr., Charlo; Logan Wood, jr., Noxon; Rylan Weltz, soph., Noxon; Tanner Ovitt, sr., Plains; Brendan McDonald, sr., Two Eagle River.

Honorable mention

Isaac Fisher, jr., Arlee; Toby Odom, sr., Charlo; Tyler Carr, jr., Hot Springs; Bronco Branson, jr. Two Eagle River.
