Red Devils score first win

 


The Red Devils hit the road first taking on the Frenchtown Broncs falling 0-22.

Coming out on the top of the first the Red Devils would be able to get a man on base but were unable to score, while in the bottom Frenchtown was able to get on the board after a massive center field hit allowed three runs. Going into the second inning the Red Devils kept the intensity but were unable to get anyone on base, headed to the bottom of the second the Frenchtown Broncs scored 18 runs on seven hits. At the top of the third inning the Red Devils tried to once again get a man on base but were unable to get any hits off Frenchtown’s left handed pitcher.

“We had a great first inning but in the second inning we had a lot of errors, but it showed us where we need the extra work.” Coach Lucas MacAurthur said.

The Devils hit the road again taking on St.Ignatius-Arlee earning their first win 13-9.

The Red Devils got on the board first with Bryson McCormick drawing the walk and scoring a run, they took that momentum scoring three more runs before Ian Brown hit a double, scoring two runs for the Devils. At the bottom of the first St. Ignatius was able to score only three runs keeping the Devils in the lead. The teams would go scoreless in the second inning, with the Devil’s Brayden McJunkin adding a run in the third making the score 7-3. St. Ignatius would also be able to sneak in a run at the bottom of the third. Headed into the fourth inning, Logan Buckner takes a hit, landing on first base, he would steal both second and third, and a hit by Sam Christensen would allow Buckner to score. Sam Hatchel would strike out St. Ignatius in the bottom of the fourth in three batters, top of the fifth allowed for two more Red Devil run ins, while they were able to keep St. Ignatius to only one run. Both teams would each score one run in the six inning. The final inning would be where St. Ignatius was able to score the bulk of their runs but was not enough to secure the win.

The Red Devils host the Ronan Chiefs on Thursday, April 4.
