Over the Hill gang gathers at the Bend

When you are over the hill you are on the golf course. Or you could be at least.

Staring down chilly weather with some hot golfing action, the Over the Hill gang was at it again out on River’s Bend Monday as 32 of Sanders County’s most devout golfaholics shot for birdies, pars and bogeys.

Apparently liking the weather the best, Ron Beaty scored low gross honors with a 41, while Buck Adams factored in his handicap to arrive at the low net of 31.

In other play of the day Monday, Rusty Haggard was closest to the pin in 2 on No. 1, Wally Gibe ran in the long putt on No. 2, Al Luckow knocked down the longest putt on No. 3, Gary Thompson was good for the long putts on Nos. 4 and 8, Mike Gilmore was closest to the pin off the tee on No. 5, Ron Belger busted the long 70+ drive on No. 6, Scott Garr chased in the long putt on No. 6, Sam Burt put the long putt in the bottom of the cup on No. 7, Larry Eddy curled in the long putt on No. 9, and Beaty bashed the longest drive on No. 9.

Beaty and Eddy were forced to pay for their pars on No. 4 and Burt, Eddy, John Beckman and George Krueger all connected on chip-in shots during their rounds of play.

With summer officially beginning a week from today, the Over the Hill gang will play it’s final round of the spring next Monday morning at scenic River’s Bend.
