The lowering of the Clark Fork River is evident from Silcox Mountain above Thompson Falls. NorthWestern Energy continues to lower the water level so that the dam can be repaired after spring's high water. Steel pillway beams were removed to allow for the higher flows with runoff. Now that the high water has peaked, the river must be lowered to allow crews to replace the beams.
