A GREAT WAY TO RECYCLE:

PURCHASE OR DONATE NEW

OR USED BUILDING MATERIALS

A national spending study by American Express shows that about 75% of all homeowners do home improvement projects each year, spending an average of more than $4,000 on each project. Materials account for a big chunk of this spending. One way to cut down this cost is to shop for secondhand materials. Reuse centers and architectural salvage stores sell surplus home-construction materials at a fraction of their retail cost. Reuse centers can sell building materials at such a low cost because they get most of them free. Source: http://www.moneycrashers.com.

Home ReSource in Missoula is a nonprofit community-sustainability center with building materials, a re-use store, job training, education, and zero waste programs. This business wrote a plan that outlines measures to move Missoula toward 90% waste reduction by 2050. You can purchase new or used materials or donate them! They don’t take furniture, appliances, toxic materials or fluorescent bulbs. If donating, call Joe first at (406) 880-5555. They are located at 1515 Wyoming in Missoula, off Russell street. The phone number is (406) 541-8300.
