Savage Heat shut out Alberton in home win

ALBERTON 0

The Hot Springs Savage Heat hosted the Alberton Panthers on Monday for a quick and easy win 65–0.

The Panthers were no match for the Savage Heat as Hot Springs scored its first touchdown within minutes. Alberton fumbled soon after, and Hot Springs capitalized on their mishap for another touchdown. Hot Springs made the bulk of their touchdowns in the first quarter and by halftime they were up 58-0.

Alberton came back stronger in the second half keeping the Savage Heat to minimal scoring, but they were no match for Hot Springs who played a stronger defense, keeping the Panthers scoreless. While Alberton played their hardest the Savage Heat ended the game with a stunning 65–0 final.

Hot Springs is set to travel to Lincoln this Friday.

NOXON 67, LIMA 0

Noxon traveled to Lima Saturday to face off the Bears. Dominating the field once again the Red Devils are proving they just might "Win the West," adding a 67-0 victory to their season.

The Red Devils came out hot getting most of their points in the first quarter. Brian Risch threw a grand 32-yard pass to senior Shamus Wheeldon for a touchdown. Wheeldon found himself getting a monumental 50-yard run for his second touchdown of the game. Still in the first quarter, Owen Ramsey ran 5 yards for a touchdown. Senior Antonio Lodi rounded it out with a 3-yard touchdown and Noxon ended the first quarter up 33-0.

In the second quarter once again Risch showed his powerful arm, this time to freshman Shane Hatchel for a 30-yard pass touchdown. The Bears would let this be the only Red Devil scoring leading to halftime with a score of 46-0.

Noxon's Logan Buckner got his first touchdown in the third quarter coming from a 20-yard pass from Justice Kayser. Both teams kept up the defense leaving the Red Devils to only score a touchdown for the third quarter ending at 52-0.

With the final quarter going Risch ran 40 yards for a touchdown. Lodi also had an impressive 25-yard run for the Red Devils, ending the game 67-0. Noxon is set to go head to head with the West Yellowstone Wolverines this Friday at home with kickoff at 7 p.m.

THOMPSON FALLS 12, MANHATTAN 35

The Blue Hawks welcomed the Manhattan Tigers to Previs Field on Friday. After a tough fight, the Hawks fell 12-35.

Thompson started their defenses strong, not letting the Tigers gain any yards, but Manhattan fought back and toward the end of the first quarter got their first touchdown and a two-point conversion.

The Tigers scored quickly in the second quarter, but the Hawk defense shut them out, not letting them score again. Thompson Fall junior Bryson LeCoure threw a remarkable 35-yard pass with just 12 seconds left

to senior Max Hannum, putting the Hawks on the scoreboard and going into halftime down by just one score, 6-14.

Manhattan pushed their heavy defense at the Hawks keeping them scoreless in the third quarter, halfway through the fourth LeCoure got himself a swift five-yard touchdown. Kaiden Robins led Thompson in rushing with 10 yards, LeCoure was on his tail with seven, and Sam Burgess had four. Hannum had an impressive 58 yards receiving, senior Braxton Dorscher coming in behind him with 56, senior Nick Tessier also had 29.

"The path is not any more favorable as we play a gifted Jefferson team that relies on their front seven to push around their opponents," Coach Jared Koskela said after the Manhattan game. "We have to get creative in our plays and embrace the underdog mentality." The Hawks travel to Jefferson on Friday.

PARK CITY 21, PLAINS 12

The Horsemen hit the road last Friday for a bout against Park City. The teams split the 400-mile trek and met in Deer Lodge to play. The Horsemen were down 0-7 at halftime but came back with fury in the third to get within two points before Park City sealed the win in the fourth.

The Horsemen are back home this week and will host Troy on Friday with kickoff slated for 7 p.m.
