Hawks fall in final home game

THOMPSON FALLS 12, FLORENCE 43

The Blue Hawks hosted the Florence Falcons for their last home game last Friday, falling 12-43.

Quickly the Falcons were able to break through Thompson's defense and score a touchdown. While the Blue Hawks tried to hold Florence back, they were able to score another touchdown before the half of the first quarter. With only seconds left Nick Tessier was able to run an incredible 90-yard touchdown for Thompson, putting them on the scoreboard. In the second quarter the Blue Hawks stepped up their defense and were able to let the Falcons score only minimal points. Going into the half the score was 6-29.

Coming back from the half, there seemed to be new fire in the Blue Hawks keeping the Falcons at bay. Although Florence was able to score two more touchdowns in the third quarter, Thompson never let their defense falter. In the fourth quarter the Blue Hawks defense really banded together to keep the Falcons scoreless. Senior Max Hannum was able to make a powerful breakthrough in Florence's defense to accept an impressive 30-yard pass from Bryson LeCoure for the final Blue Hawk touchdown of the game.

Tessier led Thompson with 74 yards receiving with Hannum right behind him with 42. Ian Myers went helmet to helmet with the Falcons earning top spot with five tackles. Braxton Dorscher, Carson Cataldo, and LeCoure all got four for the Blue Hawks.
