Plains track off to a great start

The Plains Horsemen and Trotters headed to Eureka to take part in the Good Friday Easter Bunny track meet last Friday.

Starting the day Nicholass Hill proved his quick footedness, earning third place in the 100 meters with a time of 12 seconds. Behind him was Brenden Vanderwall with a time of 12.82, Zander Czifro had a time of 13.03, Asher Seymour close behind with 13.81, and Gabe Rasmussen rounded out the Horsemen in 13.99. For the girls, Aly Roy earned fourth place with her time of 15 seconds, close behind her was Ireland Corbin in 15.45, Jaycee Carr was hot on the trail in 15.67, and lastly was Amy Hill with a time of 15.78. In the 200 meters, Corbin took third getting a majestic time of 32 seconds, Carr was close behind with a time of 33.18 and Amy Hill crossed the finish line with a time of 33.98. Nicholas Hill got a great time of 24 seconds in the men's 200 meter, while Cooper Meredith came behind him with a time of 27.25. Horseman Aiden Silva was the only Plains runner in the 400 meter, earning a stunning time of 1 minute, 1 second. Joseph Martin led Plains in the 800 meter race earning third place with his time of 2 minutes 17 seconds, Mike Reistroffer was behind him with a time of 2:20, Kalem Ercanbrack only 16 seconds behind Reistroffer with a time of 2:36, and Seymour rounded it out for the Horsemen with a time of 2:45. For the Trotters, Peyton Wasson earned first place with her time of 2 minutes 44 seconds, behind her earning second was Katelyn Subatch with a tremendous time of 2:47. Martin led Plains in the 1600 meter race, with his breaktaking time of 5 minutes, 26 seconds, Reistroffer was close behind running in at 5:30, and Ercanbrack earning a time of 5:53. For the girls Marina Tulloch showed her strong long distance running skills by earning first place in the 1600 with her time of 5 minutes 57 seconds, Tulloch also earned first place in the 3200 meter race.

Amy Hill took first place in the girls 100-meter hurdles with her astonishing time of 20 seconds. Ashley Ferlan raced in the 300-meter hurdles earning a time of 59 seconds, and for the boys Cody West ran a 50-second 300-meter hurdle for Plains.

Plains only had a men’s relay team, both racing the 100 meter and 400 meter races. The 4-by-100 team consisted of Nick Hill, Darren Standeford, Greg Tatum and Czifro. They earned second place with their magnificent time of 47 seconds. The long race team made up of Aiden Silva, Martin, Reistroffer and Tatum also earned second place, finishing in 4 minutes, 1 second.

In the shot putting world, Vanderwall earned second place with his throw of 37 feet 11 inches, Tatum was behind with a throw of 33’6”, Kadien Jurek threw a 32’11” to earn fifth place. Alexis Deming took first place for the women throwing an awe-inspiring 35 feet, 7 inches, Corbin behind her with a throw of 23’0.4”, Kalli Tuma rounded it out for the Trotters with 20’0.5”.

Deming also took first place in the discus event, with her throw of 116 feet, 1 inch, Ashley Ferlan behind her with 80’1”. Vanderwall took fourth place for the men’s discus throwing an amazing 100 feet, 6 six inches, behind him was Darren Standeford at 100’6” earning him fifth place, while Jurek came in behind with a throw of 86’2”.

For the javelin, Tatum held the lead for Plains with an epic throw of 114 feet, 4 inches, West behind him with 109’4”, Konrad Maicher threw a fantastic throw of 102’2”, Sam Feliska threw a 98'10".

In high jump Subatch earned herself first place with her jump of 4 feet, 4 inches, while for the Horsemen Cooper Meredith cleared 5’.

For long jump Nicholas Hill proved his hops earning an incredible 18 feet 2 inches, Ercanbrack behind at 15”6’, for the women Aly Roy cleared 12’8”, with Jaycee Carr behind her jumping in at 11’11”.

In the triple jump, Subatch earned another first place with her jump of 29 feet, 8.5 inches, while for the men Vanderwall cleared 35’10”.

The Horsemen/Trotters will take on the Bigfork meet Saturday.
