Trotters split with Vikes, Trojans

The Plains Trotters split games last week, winning the most important one 36-31 over Charlo in Plains Thursday and losing to Troy 52-47 in overtime in a non-conference game at Troy Friday.

The District 14C win over Charlo avenged an earlier loss to the Lady Vikings for coach Jess Nagy and her Trotters. Trailing 26-23 going into the fourth quarter, the Trotters won the final eight minutes 13-5 to pull out the victory.

Jessica Thompson netted 15 points to lead Plains, Lindsay Laws added 10, Kassidy Kinzie five, Kara Altmiller four and Haley Josephson two.

Kaitlin Cox scored 14 points to lead Charlo and Sakoya Gaustad added five.

At Troy Friday, Lady Trojan Allie Coldwell scored 20 of her game-high 26 points in the second half to lead Troy to the win. The game was tied at 42-42 going into overtime but the Trojans outscored the Trotters 10-5 in the extra four minutes.

Thompson and Laws bucketed 19 points apiece to lead Plains, Altmiller added four, AnaLisa Loberg three and Kinzie two.

Aurora Becquart added 13 points for the Class B Trojans.

Up this week for the Trotters are games at Arlee Thursday and with Seeley-Swan in Plains Saturday.
