Elementary students enjoy run for fun in the sun

RUN FOR THE FUN OF IT – Thompson Falls Elementary students participated in the 20th Fun Run event last week. Every fall the junior and senior high cross-country team runners, under the direction of coach Sarah Naegeli, help younger students run their best. Thompson Falls Elementary students have been running strong for 20 years. This year students from kindergarten through sixth grade participated in yet another successful fun run of one mile in distance.
Cross country students helped the youngsters out with some prerace stretching and warm-ups. They continued to support the runners throughout the course while running along, side-by-side. The excitement and encouragement were tremendous and lots of smiles were worn on faces of participants while friends and family cheered them on.
In the boys race sixth grader Kaiden Robins finished on top with a time of 6:16, followed by another sixth-grade student, Ian Myers (6:36), and in third was fourth grader Hunter Berman (6:41).
The girls gave their all right after the boys finished. First to arrive at the finished line was another sixth-grade student, Olivia Fitchett, in 6:56, second went to Aubrey Baxter of the fourth-grade class in a time of 7:08 and Thaila Bonney, sixth grade, was third in 7:13.
