Dr. Jekylls or Miss Hydes; which girls team is going to show up this time?

The Plains Trotters, playing one of their worst games of the season followed one day later by one of their best efforts yet, split games last week, falling 30-19 to the Lady Vikings in Charlo Friday in the stinker and coming back to race past Troy 59-24 in the sweet-smelling one in Plains Saturday.

"I don't know what it was all about, but it was like there was a lid on the rim Friday and then it seemed like everything fell in Saturday," coach Eddie Fultz explained. "If we can play like we did Saturday every time out, there is no reason that we can't play with anyone in our league."

Fultz and his Trotters have two big opportunities to play again like they did Saturday this week, visiting District 14C-leading Arlee Thursday and trekking to District 13C-leading Seeley-Swan Saturday.

"These two games are part of an important stretch where we play five out of six games on the road," Fultz said. "If we can finish that stretch with a 4-2 or 5-1 record to show for it, I can live with that."

Fultz said the atmosphere in Charlo was not very hospitable, and that shooting woes complicated the Trotters' problems there. "That's a tough place to play, teams always seem to struggle there, I know we did," he said. "We didn't make a perimeter shot until the fourth quarter.

"They didn't run away from us but we could never quite seem to catch up either."

Individual scoring from the Charlo game was not available.

As tough as it was to score in Charlo Friday, the points flowed freely for the Trotters against Troy Saturday.

The Trotters roared out to a 17-5 lead after one quarter and extended the advantage to 38-13 by halftime. The second half was, as they say in the school business, academic as the Trotters cruised in for the win.

Haley Jospehson led the Trotters to the win with a season-high 15 points, Kassidy Kinzie kicked in with 12, Kylee Altmiller eight, Natalee Deschamps six, Cree Lulack five, Miera Loberg and Rachel Huenink four apiece, Willow Sturdivant three and Mariah Smith two.

On the other side of things Talise Becquart led Troy with six points, Annie Day scored five, Emma Johnson four and Katleynn Tallmadge, Ella Pierce and Emily Ramirez three apiece.
