Warriors run past H-Men

Horsemen coach Tyrel Allen said the Arlee Warriors would be one of the best teams his Plains boys would face this season.

The Warriors proved Allen right by blitzing past the Horsemen 75-54 in a non-conference game at Arlee Saturday.

Now 11-3 overall but still 6-0 in 14C play, the Horsemen will put that unbeaten conference record on the line this week, hosting Hot Springs Thursday and going to St. Regis to play the dangerous Tigers Friday.

St. Regis’ only 14C loss this season was to the Horsemen in Plains back on Jan. 9.

“They haven’t lost to anyone except us in league play, so I am thinking St. Regis will be pretty pumped up for this game,” Allen said. “We want to finish the regular season strong now that there are only four games left to get ourselves ready for tournament play.”

The Arlee Warriors, members of 14C for much of the last decade, have moved up to Class B this season, so the Horsemen’s loss Saturday doesn’t sting as much as it would have in years past.

“They played well, you have to give them credit,” Allen said. “They got us in a back-and-forth kind of game and played it a little better than we did.”

Treydon Brouillette led the Horsemen in Arlee with 18 points, Jake Weyers chipped in with 11, Nathan Feliska 10, Kade Pardee five, Parker Flock four, Tristan subatch three, Esvin Reyes two and Duncan Chisholm one.

Billy Fisher led Arlee with 21 points and Cody Tanner scored 17 more for the Warriors.
