Ron's Running Dinos claim first half crown

In the end, Ron’s Running Dinos simply could not be caught.

The reptilian, club-wielding duffers, most commonly seen at River’s Bend during stretches of nice weather over the last several decades, Ron’s Running Dinos did not win the day in last Wednesday Night Men’s league play at River’s Bend, but they did claim the league’s first half championship.

Hagedorn Land Surveying golfers Ryan Ostwald, Randy Hagedorn, Paul Flemmer and Bernie Groshong shot the low team gross of 172, while Jesse Mosher, John Mosher, Steve Fairbank and Rusty Sharp led Ty’s team to the low net of 146.

Ostwald carded an honest one-under par 35 to grab low individual gross honors while Fairbank scored the low individual net of 32.

In other Wednesday highlights, Ostwald was the man of the day, hitting closest to the pin in 3 on No. 2, in addition to hitting his tee shot closest to the pin on No. 8, and blasting the longest drive of the night on No. 9. John Mosher put down the long putt on No. 3, Wally Gibe was closest to the pin on No. 5, Randy Hojem rolled in the long putt on No. 6, and Hagedorn hit the long 55+ drive on No. 9.

Bill Nolen scored a chip-in shot on No. 6 and Rick Kendall got one down on No. 7.

The final first-half standings:

Ty’s 147.5
