Who ordered the ground chuck?

Turning almost exclusively to their ground game and grinding out over 350 yards of total rushing, the Plains Horsemen officially opened their 8-Man football season with a 44-0 win over Troy in Plains Friday.

Denied their first game with Flint Creek due to a COVID-19 scare in Granite County two weeks ago, the 1-0 Horsemen will now travel to Charlo Friday for a game with the always dangerous Vikings.

Plains Coach Eddie Fultz thinks the game at Charlo could be a pivotal one.

“This could be kind of an early season make or break game for these teams,” he said. “Whoever wins will be in good position to take one of the playoff spots but the team that loses could put itself in the position of having to win every game from here on out.”

The ground game paid dividends for the Horsemen in their easy win over out-matched Troy last week.

Gavin Regalado led the onslaught with 136 yards rushing on only eight carries while scoring two touchdowns, Gary Bradley added 84 yards on seven totes and another TD, Clatyon Hill gained 69 yards and scored two more touchdowns and quarterback Tristan Subatch chipped in another 24 yards.

Fultz said Plains led 36-0 at halftime and the final 20 minutes of game-time went mercifully quickly with the running clock. He said all of the Horsemen got playing time in the big win.
