TAYLOR FOR THE WIN! Plains-Hot Springs' Taylor Angle pins Florence's Dillon Post at TFHS January 26. Savage Horsemen wrestle in Eureka Friday.

In search of continuing quality competition, the Plains-Hot Springs Savage Horsemen wrestling team will travel to Eureka Friday for a triangular dual match with Eureka and Florence.

Taking advantage of the opportunities presented last week, coach Shane Angle and his Savage Horsemen participated in a triangular dual in Thompson Falls last Tuesday (January 25), losing to Florence but defeating Thompson Falls 36-34.

Moving on from Thompson Falls, P-HS grapplers went to Mission Saturday for a dual match with the host Bulldogs. Although no team score was available from that match, Plains-Hot Springs wrestlers got a lot of mat action in.

In the 103-113 pound class, P-HS's Taylor Angle won a 14-2 major decision from Mission's Kody Dillard, the Savage Horsemen's Peter Carey pinned Isaiah Fields in 56 seconds at 126 and Will James Courville of P-HS pinned Kodiak Killorn in 3:33 at 138.

Jesse Uski scored two wins over his Mission opponents at 170, defeating Christian Smith by 7-5 decision and pinned Chance Bockman in 39 seconds.

Savage Horsemen Brenden Vanderwall (145), Bert DeTienne (152) and William Dyson (182) lost their varsity matches with Mission.

In junior varsity action, P-HS grapplers Stephen Schulze (126), Brady Schrenk (138), David Schulze (138-145) and Stephen Yother (170) all won matches by pin, and Yother in fact, won twice in such fashion.

Denny Black wrestled at 205-285 for P-HS and lost by pin.
