Devil boys fight the good fight, finish play at District 14C tourney

The Noxon Red Devil boys fought the good fight but that fight came to an end in the District 14C tournament last week.

With the 14C tourney played remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Devils first lost to the Savage Heat 54-36 in Hot Springs Tuesday and completed play with a 61-53 loss to Charlo Friday.

Against Hot Springs, Cade VanVleet led coach Ben Johnson’s Devils with nine points, Brody Hill scored eight, Derreck Christensen and Jeriko Smith-Roach six apiece, Nate Cano five and Jared Webley two.

Versus Charlo, Hill canned a team-high 12 points, Roach-Smith and Wyatt Lackner added 10 apiece, Cano eight, Christensen seven, Webley four and VanVleet two.

Keaton Piedalue led a balanced Charlo attack with 20 points, Stetson Reum added 13 and Phil Marquez and Roper Edwards 11 each.
