Red Devil thinclads begin

 


Noxon track and field teams began season action competing in the Eureka Time Trials Saturday.

Leading the way for the Red Devil boys, junior Cade VanVleet enjoyed a banner day, tying for first place with Thompson Falls’ Cody Burk in the shot put, winning second in the discus and 100 meters, and claiming third place in the javelin.

Josh Baldwin won third place in the shot put and fourth in the javelin for the Noxon boys, and Wyatt Lackner went the distance in placing third in the 3200 meters, fifth in the 800 and sixth in the 1600.

For the Lady Devils, Emily Brown ran down first place finishes in the 400, 800 and 1600 meter runs, Riley Richter won first place in the 100, Aubrey Erwin claimed first in the 300 meter hurdles and second places in the 100 hurdles and high jump, Jaedyn Murray placed second in the shot put, third in the discus, fourth in the javelin and eighth in the 100, and Kylee Erwin took seventh in the 100 meters.

The Red Devil track and field teams are coached by Noxon athletic director Matt Havens, and Havens is assisted by Scott Richardson.
