Three injured in accident near TF

A THOMPSON FALLS AMBULANCE was struck by a dump truck Thursday afternoon in an incident on Highway 200 west of Thompson Falls.

Three people were transported to Clark Fork Valley Hospital (CFVH) Thursday afternoon after a two-vehicle accident. The incident occurred about 1:15 p.m. Thursday on Highway 200 east of Thompson Falls, near Grocery Surplus, when a dump truck heading west struck the left side of a Thompson Falls ambulance. The ambulance was transporting a life flight patient to CFVH.

Thompson Falls Rural First District (TFRFD) and Sanders County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the scene to sweep up debris and direct traffic.

The male life flight patient was transported from the scene to a Plains ambulance to be taken to CFVH. According to the incident report, ambulance crew members involved in the accident were transported to CFVH, including an EMS driver who was injured. Another female victim was also transported to the hospital. The driver of the dump truck, after giving a report to the officers, went to CFVH to be checked out.

Traffic was stopped to let first responders transport victims to CFVH.

Traffic heading east on Hwy 200 was stopped at Airport Road and directed to go around the scene by TFRFD. The accident cleared around 3 p.m.
