Wild Coyotes, Highlead lead Wednesday play

 


The Wild Coyotes howled but Highlead held onto the lead in Wednesday Night Men’s League golfing action at River’s Bend last week.

Wild Coyote players Gary Thompson, Mike Normandin, Howard Morkert and Steve Clark put together their rounds to arrive at the low team gross of 174, while Highlead golfers Chadd Laws, Jesse Mosher, John Mosher and Steve Fairbank posted the low team net of 141.

Highlead continues to lead league standings with 68.5 points while First Security Bank and Hagedorn Land Surveying are tied for second with 64 each.

As he often does in men’s league play at the Bend, Ryan Ostwald again shot the low individual gross of 36, and John Mosher finished with the low individual net of 33.

In other Wednesday highlights, Dan Kier put his ball closest to the pin in three on No. 2, Laws dropped in the long putt on No. 3, Michael Scharfe was closest to the pin off the tee on No. 5, John Torres knocked down the long putt on No. 6, RT Brown was closest to the pin on No. 8 and hit the long drive of the night on No. 9, and Paul Flemmer smashed the long 55+ drive on No. 9.

John Mosher collected the only chip-in of the round on No. 3.
