MSU Extension hosts classes, tours

The MSU Extension Office in Sanders County is again hosting a wide range of tours to include beekeeping and grape cultivation at local wineries. Besides the summer’s horticulture and natural resource tours, there will be a free presentation focused on parents with teenagers. Parents can learn how to talk to teens about the dangers of misusing opioids and stimulants. The presentation will be at the Rex Theater in Thompson Falls on July 31 at 6 p.m.. Though it is free, registration is required.

Several events and tours are happening through the Extension Office in July and August. Last week included tours of Eller’s Blueberry Farm in Trout Creek, as well as classes at Bear Creek Resort in Thompson Falls.

Other tours scheduled include:

July 27: Spring Fever Daylilies Tour, Waterway CSA Tour, and WARC Field Day

August 4: Little Beaver Creek Ranch tour, Trout Creek

August 5: Harlow Bison Ranch Family Bison Festival, Thompson Falls

August 10: Sanders County Vineyard and Winery Tour

August 11: Bighorn Botanicals, Noxon

August 15: Elk Ridge Strawberry Farm Tours and Espalier Trellis Method Fruit Orchard, Clark Fork, Idaho

August 17: Cabinet Gorge Dam and Fish Passage Facility Tour, Clark Fork, Idaho.
