Noxon wins on the road

NOXON 45 WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS 19

The Noxon Red Devils traveled to take on the White Sulphur Springs Hornets taking the win 45-19. The Red Devils are now 4-2 for the season and are on the road again this week. Noxon will play in Gardiner at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Their final game of the season will be at home on October 20 when they will play host to Hot Springs.

THOMPSON FALLS 14, LOYOLA 33

The Thompson Falls Blue Hawks traveled Friday to go helmet to helmet with the Loyola Rams, falling 14-33.

The Blue Hawks started the game off strong with an epic 89-yard touchdown by Ian Myers from the Rams kickoff. Loyola was able to answer back with their own 26-yard touchdown. Toward the end of the first quarter, Bryson LeCoure threw an impressive 27-yard pass to senior Max Hannum for a touchdown ending with the Blue Hawks up 14-7. Going into the second quarter Loyola was able to break past Thompson’s defense for a minimal yard run, tying the score 14-14. The Hawks were unable to put a stop to the Rams’ momentum letting them get another heavy yarded touchdown, putting Thompson down 14-26 at halftime.

Thompson came back after the half and kept Loyola to only one touchdown for the third quarter. The Rams defense was able to shut out the Blue Hawks keeping them scoreless in the third. Going into the fourth quarter as hard as Thompson’s defense tried they were unable to stop the Rams from adding another touchdown to the scoreboard ending the game 14-33.

LeCoure led the Hawks with 87 yards passing, Hannum got an impressive 59 yards receiving. Sam Burgess put his shoulder down to earn himself six of the Blue Hawk tackles, while LeCoure, Braxton Dorscher and Hayden Hanks each got five for the team. The Blue Hawks see Previs Field one last time for the season this Friday, October 13, to take on the Florence Falcons. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
