SUPERIOR 42, HOT SPRINGS 31

The Lady Savage Heat took on the Lady Bobcats of Superior, falling 42-31.

No results were given to the Ledger at this time.

SEELEY-SWAN 43, HOT SPRINGS 21

The Savage Heat took on the Seeley-Swan Black Hawks falling 43-2.

Both teams came out aggressively in the first quarter with each team putting pressure on the other, keeping both teams to single digits for much of the first quarter. The Black Hawks were able to sink a three pointer at the buzzer putting them ahead 11-7. Going into the second quarter both teams kept the pressure, until Seeley was able to pull ahead with their lead. While the Lady Savage Heat were only able to break past the tight knit Seeley defense once to put points on the board, the Black Hawks were able to capitalize off steals to put more points between the teams.

Coming into the third quarter Seeley would shut down Hot Springs, keeping them to only one point for the whole quarter. With only two minutes left the Black Hawks had a massive 23 point lead over the Lady Savage Heat. But the young Hot Springs team never gave up and came back in the final quarter to sink baskets. Breaking past the defense of Seeley the Lady Savage Heat were able to close the large point gap. But it wouldn't be enough for the win.

The Savage Heat face the Eagles of Two Eagle River on Thursday, January 11. Results will be in next week's Ledger.

SEELEY-SWAN 55, HOT SPRINGS 53

The Savage Heat faced the Seeley-Swan Black Hawks, sinking 55-53.

While Hot Springs came out and got the first basket, the Black Hawks were swift to answer with a three pointer, taking a quick lead. Their lead was short-lived as the Savage Heat capitalized on several steals to take the lead. The aggressive defense of Hot Springs kept Seeley from minimal scoring in the first quarter. The Black Hawks were able to break past the defense in the second quarter putting more points on the board, but they were unable to take the lead. At the half they were only down by two points.

Nick McAllister led with an outstanding 24 points, Quincy Styles-DePoe was behind with 14, and Weston Slonaker rounded it out with seven for the Savage Heat.

The Savage Heat hit the home court again this week taking on the Eagles of Two Eagle River.
