Joni, Cathy win card marathon

The GFWC Thompson Falls Woman’s Club annual Pinochle Marathon ended in April, with Joni Mosher and Cathy Mills being crowned the winners with a total of 40,790 points. In second place was Mosher and Jim Hurst with 40,390, and third place went to Pinkie Nelson and Joyce Hilt with 40,110 points.

Three teams had 1500 trump throughout the eight-month competition, including Mosher and Hurst in October, Wendy Kelley and Patty Coe in November and Cheryl Godfrey and Patty Hopkins in December. Five teams were lucky enough to get 1000 aces, including Claudia Reed and Mills in September, Mills and Mosher in both December and January, Maureen Kolodziej and Mikki Jackson in January and Godfrey and Hopkins in March.

For April play, Patty Coe and Claudia Reed had the top score of 6,170, followed by Reed and Mills with 5,920 and Mosher and Mills with 5,590.

Other overall Pinochle marathon scores included: Patty Coe and Wendy Kelley, 39,480; Kelley and Ron beaty, 37,850; Godfrey and Hopkins, 37,440; Alan and Lorri Renard, 37,420; Kelley and Hurst, 35,810; Juanita Triplett and Cal Pomrenke, 35,350; Pat Ingraham and Nancy Gressang, 35,270; Coe and Reed, 34,360; Reed and Mills, 33,490; Linda Haywood and Renee Klinger, 31,900; Hurst and Mills, 31,890; Jackson and Kolodziej, 29,470; Tamra Shear and Mitzi Hart, 28,070.
