Lakeside to welcome classic cars

Trout Creek will go back in time with the annual Cool Summer Nights car show at the Lakeside Resort. The event will feature cars, trucks and motorcycles from all eras.

Jake Rostker with the Lakeside said he’s excited about the weekend and the warm weather forecasted for the Cool Summer Nights. He noted that the previous two years, the car show was met with rainstorms. He’s expecting as many as 50 classic vehicles this weekend, with temperatures predicted in the high 80s.

Registration for the event is 5-8 p.m. Friday, with the car show starting Saturday at 8 a.m. Participants will vote on first, second and third-place overall winners, and spectators will vote on a people’s choice award. Rostker also said that a $50 gift card to the Lakeside’s ice cream station will be awarded to the vehicle with the best paint job.

“It’s an awesome event,” Rostker said. “It brings people from all around the region and gives them a chance to come together in a beautiful location and show off their skills and prized possessions.” He said that the Cool Summer Nights car show is unlike any other as it is right on the reservoir. He added that the Lakeside will offer food and drink specials throughout the day, as well as different drawings.

The Rockin’ Hot Rods led by Dave and Deb Oliver will entertain the crowds at the Lakeside Friday and Saturday with 60’s rock-n-roll. Music begins at 7 p.m. Friday and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

For information on the event, call the Lakeside at 827-4458.
