The Blue Hawks competed in the Cut Bank Booster Invitational last weekend, coming away with an 11th place finish out of 27 teams. “I was very pleased with the overall team performance. I thought our younger guys competed hard and we won a lot of matches over the weekend,” said Coach Mike Thilmony.

Eli Ratliff placed second, losing 8-7 in a double overtime in the finals to Wyatt Elam of Lewistown. Max Hannum placed second in the 170-pound weight class losing to McCoy Banner from Fairfield 10-2. Thilmony said that Diego Long, Westin Brown, Brock Ryan and Tate Bosker all wrestled both days but didn’t place. “We still have some little things that we need to work on to cut down on mistakes,” said Thilmony.

Thompson Falls wrestlers Jaden Bewick and Veronica Bewick both competed in round robin brackets with six girls in each bracket. They both were able to wrestle in five matches and despite losing all five they scored three points each for the team. “They are gaining good experience and getting better each week,” Thilmony said.

The Blue Hawks will be hitting the mats this weekend to compete in the Choteau Classic.
