Red Devils fall to Two Eagle River

The Red Devils hosted Two Eagle River on Friday in Noxon, sending the team home with two wins. The Red Devil boys lost 49-62 and the girls 41-50.

The Red Devils kept it close in the first quarter, down just five points as the buzzer sounded. The Eagles soared in the second though, as they scored 19 to Noxon's 2 points and led 34-12 at the half.

In the second half, Noxon had more momentum as they worked to lessen the lead. In the fourth quarter Noxon scored 27 points, more than they had the first three quarters combined, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Eagles. Two Eagle River had an impressive 11 players scoring in the game, led by Talon Addison with 18.

The Two Eagle River girls had a strong start in Noxon, leading 13-3 after the first. Noxon came back in the second to lessen the lead to just five points as the Eagles led 24-19 at halftime. The Eagles kicked their game back into gear in the second half to take the win. Maygan Swanson had 16 points Friday, with Abby Yoder adding 11, as well as leading the team with nine rebounds and seven steals.

The Red Devils lost on the road in Charlo on Saturday 66-32. Noxon struggled to score in the first half and was down 25-11 going into the locker room. The third quarter was much of the same for Noxon as they were outscored 18-6.

Justice Kayser led the Noxon scoring against the Vikings with 12 points, and Ricky Williams, Aiden Currie, Brian Risch and Shane Hutchel each scored 2 points.

The Red Devil girls also lost to Charlo, 60-17. Charlo dominated the entire 32 minutes, allowing Noxon just six points in the first half. Abby Yoder led Noxon with 12 points, Maygan Swanson and Lieah Prichard scored two apiece and Emma Swanson had one, leading the team with four of their 10 steals.

The Red Devils will welcome cross-county rivals Hot Springs on Thursday before traveling to St. Regis on Saturday for the final game of the regular season.
